Birthplace of the Beatles and home to the most successful team in English football history, Liverpool attracts large numbers of visitors each and every year. This city has a population of around 450,000, covers an approximate area of 43 square kilometres and dates back all the way to 1207.
Amongst its number attractions, Liverpool is home to world-class museums such as the Tate Liverpool and the World Museum Liverpool keeping the culture-vultures happy, while the shopaholics have a field day in the city’s huge Liverpool ONE shopping complex. Also not to be missed is a world-famous ferry across the Mersey, which leads you to the top-notch attractions found on the other side of the river including Spaceport and the U-Boat Story.
Off the beaten tourist track just outside of the city centre, you’ll find Lark Lane which boasts a great selection of laid-back bars and restaurants. Back in the middle of town, Liverpool’s nightlife is legendary, from the bars and clubs in and around Seel Street to live music at the world-famous Cavern Club.
